ABOUT me

For most of my professional life I have lived between the UK (where I grew up) and Mexico (where I currently reside). I speak fluent Spanish and have over 10 years of experience working in higher and further education, with students, academics and institutions in the UK and Latin America, including in the Mexican Secretary of Public Education and the University of Manchester. 

I completed a BA in Latin American Studies at the University of Liverpool in 2010, and in 2019 I graduated with a PhD in Social Anthropology at the University of Manchester. I have carried out research on historical memory, indigenous rights and national identity; social movements, money and value; natural disasters, disaster preparedness and education. 

I have been working as a freelance editor, mentor and researcher for 5 years. 
My cumulative experience in diverse but related fields has shown me the value and importance of clear communication and expression across languages, cultures and disciplines.

SOBRE MÍ

Durante la mayor parte de mi vida profesional he vivido entre el Reino Unido (donde crecí) y México (donde vivo actualmente). Hablo español de manera fluida y tengo más de 10 años de experiencia trabajando en educación superior (pregrado, grado y posgrado) con estudiantes, académicos e instituciones en el Reino Unido y América Latina, incluyendo la Secretaría de Educación Pública en México y la Universidad de Manchester.

En 2010 terminé mi licenciatura en Estudios Latinoamericanos por la Universidad de Liverpool y en 2019 me gradué del doctorado en Antropología Social por la Universidad de Manchester. He hecho investigación sobre memoria histórica, derechos indígenas e identidad nacional; movimientos sociales, dinero y valor; desastres naturales, preparación para desastres y educación. 

He trabajado como editor, mentor e investigador independiente durante los últimos 5 años. 

La experiencia que he acumulado en diferentes áreas de trabajo me ha mostrado el valor y la importancia de la comunicación y expresión clara entre idiomas, culturas y disciplinas.
